असम की धरती पर खूनी खेल में शामिल आतंकी संगठनों में से एक उल्फा भी है। उल्फा का पूरा नाम यूनाइटेड लिब्रेशन फ्रंट ऑफ असम (United Liberation Front of Asom) है। अपनी स्थापना के समय से अब तक उल्फा ने असम में बड़े पैमाने पर निर्दोष लोगों की हत्या की है। पिछले गुरुवार को भी उल्फा के आंतकियों ने पांच लोगों को लाइन में खड़ा कर गोलियों से भून दिया।
